About Me

Sean Doyle

I am a Toronto-based lawyer practicing exclusively in the area of workplace safety and insurance law. I have over 20 years of experience fighting for  the rights of injured Ontario workers and my practice is 100% restricted to Ontario worker representation.

My mission is to provide courteous, professional representation to Ontario injured workers and to maximize benefits for my clients.

This will be achieved by way of negotiation, mediation or more aggressively if need be by way of appeal. Don’t be short-changed by the WSIB as it struggles with its multi-billion dollar unfunded liability. I vow to diligently fight for any and all benefits to which you are entitled.

I am a leader in the field of Workplace Safety and Insurance law with over 20 years experience representing workers on all types of WSIB and WSIAT cases including:

  • WSIB and WSIAT claims and appeals;
  • Issues involving Loss of Earnings (LOE) benefits;
  • Issues involving Non-Economic Loss (NEL) benefits;
  • Return to Work, Labour Market Re-Entry and Work Transition issues and disputes;
  • Issues and disputes involving health care;
  • Issues and disputes involving time limits and the right to sue;
  • Issues and disputes involving survivor benefits, chronic pain claims, psycho traumatic disabilities and occupational disease;
  • Issues and disputes involving Future Economic Loss (FEL) awards and Pensions;
  • Back and Neck Injuries and Repetitive strain injuries.

DO NOT BE FOOLED

Many refer to themselves as “experts” or “specialists” and advertise that they have “high success rates.” Be advised that only the Law Society of Upper Canada can provide qualified lawyers in Ontario with Specialist certification. Non lawyers advertising themselves as “experts” or “specialists” may have limited or no formal legal training and education. Ensure your representative is a qualified Barrister & Solicitor in the province of Ontario and ensure that your representative carries errors and omissions insurance for your protection in the event that an error is made in the processing of your legal matter.

Neither the Law Society of Upper Canada nor the WSIB maintains statistics pertaining to “success rates” of representatives. Advertisements boasting high success rates are self-serving, unregulated and should be viewed with great skepticism.

I appreciate how exhausting and frustrating it can be to fight with the WSIB and I am committed to work tirelessly on your behalf.

Perhaps you feel that you have come up against a brick wall in trying to reason with your Case Manager at the WSIB. This may be compounded by your experience with a legal representative who is not responsive to you or who fails to represent you aggressively, professionally or on a timely basis.

You will find me to be courteous and highly responsive to your needs. You will not be passed down to a clerk, paralegal or consultant and you will be treated with the respect that you deserve as a valued client.

Ontario Workplace Safety and Insurance Law is complex. Employers are represented by experienced lawyers who try to defeat claims or minimize benefits paid to workers. All too frequently it seems the WSIB shares this agenda. Hire an experienced lawyer who will fight for your rights.
